Honda Goldwing Cafe Racer: The best selection

The Honda Goldwing Cafe Racer blends the iconic comfort of a touring bike with the sleek, aggressive stance of a cafe racer.

Its signature large frame is stripped down, showcasing a minimalist design with retro elements.

The powerful engine is tuned for performance, offering a thrilling ride with a nod to classic racer aesthetics.

Custom modifications, such as low handlebars and a solo seat, bring a modern edge to this legendary cruiser.

Rock’N’Roll X F6C

Rock’N’Roll Cycles, led by Stefan Becker, is a German custom shop founded in 2012.

Becker, who started with Yamaha in the Supersport World Championship, later transitioned to the custom scene.

The featured bike is a custom Honda F6C, a variant of the Gold Wing from the 1990s, retaining its flat-six engine and 1,500cc capacity.

Becker significantly lightened the bike, reducing its weight by around 220 pounds through custom modifications, including an aluminum monocoque frame, YSS struts, upside-down forks, and wire-spoke wheels.

The exhaust system, with a unique six-to-six design and three mufflers on each side, adds to its distinctive look and sound.

Originally built for Becker himself, the bike was sold for around $26,550.

Dragon’s Motorcycles X GL1000

"Breathless" is a custom-built cafe racer based on a 1977 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, crafted by Pablo Sebastián of Dragon’s Motorcycles.

This ambitious build involves swapping the original flat-four engine for a 1500cc flat-six from the Honda Valkyrie, significantly increasing power to over 100 horsepower.

The custom frame, built with a laser bench, retains the bike’s serial number and original tubing.

Unique features include a monocoque bodywork combining the tank and seat, operated by a remote control, and a Weber carburetor system from a Porsche 911.

The bike also boasts a custom electrical system, including a Motogadget M-Unit, and handcrafted Brembo brakes.

"Breathless" was finished just in time for the Madrid Bike Show, where it won "Best in Show."

H GARAGE X GL1100

H Garage's "Vampire Squadron" is a custom 1983 Honda Gold Wing GL1100 café racer that draws inspiration from aviation.

Named after the USAF 44th Fighter Squadron, which served in WWII, the bike pays tribute to the squadron's iconic P-38 Lightning aircraft.

The Gold Wing, typically known for its touring capabilities, was reimagined by H Garage’s Scott Halbleib into a sleek racer, with the flat-four engine as the centerpiece.

The transformation included a complete front-end replacement after a crash, resulting in a bold, unique design that captures the spirit of both aviation and high-performance motorcycles.
